Looking at the phone, it occurred to me that it would be nice to be able to call Mother when I'm in the bedroom and she's in the living room. She'd never be able to figure out how to use the phone as an intercom though. So I decided to buy a walkie talkie. I had a walkie talkie in the past, and I do wonder what became of it. I was driving across country, with Jim driving one car and me driving another, and it was really convenient to be able to talk to him while we drove. So my new play pretty is supposed to arrive over the weekend. Mrs. Billingsley is happy about it. I usually turn off the phone ringer at night, but I think it would be nice to be able to hear Mother call me at night if she wanted to or needed to. I'll have to call her for a while on it so she can learn to use it. I thought of getting a baby monitor so I could see if things are OK with her. I'd probably pick up something spooky like some of the videos I've seen on Youtube. Well, OK. So what? The spooks leave us alone anyway.
